Hello again all. Today lets talk about the most heralded rookie since Lebron James. This man is literally a human highlight reel with over 100 dunks SO FAR this season. Number two only to Dwight Howard. He averages a double double and has just reached the surface of what he is truly capable of. His name is Blake Griffin.
Sure, he is young, big, fast, and strong. Not to mention he can jump out of the building. He has a new Subway commercial, and apparently a flare for the dramatic (see the video link from All Star weekend below). This is certainly one talented and very marketable man. It seems he has the world at his fingertips, and playing in Los Angeles doesn't hurt either. Probably the second biggest sports market next to New York City. So where is the limit for this young superstar? Unfortunately he is a Los Angeles Clipper, and the general consensus is that Donald Sterling is one of the worst owners in the league. That being said, here is the perfect opportunity for Mr. Sterling to redeem himself and his franchise.
It seems only fair to point out a couple of observations here. It appears the perfect storm is now brewing in L.A. for the young Blake Griffin. With Kobe Bryant playing the back end of his career, and the fact that Phil Jackson will most definitely hang it up after this season, it seems the Lakers are about to finish up their dynasty run. Enter Blake Griffin and the young, talented Los Angeles Clippers. It seems the timing couldn't be better for the Clipper franchise. Lets just hope Mr. Sterling puts the proper pieces around Griffin and sets the young superhero up for success. The sports world has its eyes fixed on you Mr. Sterling. Don't mess this one up.
